Project ideas are endless-send in your ideas.
March 21, 2010
Converting projects to cross-stitch designs is as limitless as our imaginations allow.
You are not bound only to using photographs. Photos are great for very personal projects, but
there's so much more out there waiting to be converted into the special, one of a kind design.
Cathy Arnold created this wonderful design based on an antique English wooden tile of a swallow.
On the "Scanning Photo for Design" page, there is an insert at the bottom showing cookie cutters. Originally this little idea was added to the page to spark some ways for people to scan various items and creatively "PLAY" with them in a photo editing program before converting them to cross-stitch designs.
So, the challenge is on...........send in your ideas to
and help inspire others.
If you feel intimidated by other forms other than photos, you are most welcome to download my Webshots photos
and create to your hearts content.
Happy Stitching

Who you ask?

Found this old book that belonged to my kids.
Tip: Involve kids
Thought it would be a wonderful way to
involve any children in your lives.
Sparking the interest in children is so contagious.
Have fun. Happy stitching!

Happy New Year 2010
January 2, 2010
Here's an idea to help start off your New Year Projects.......
Traditionally we associate the New Year with good luck symbols. There are so many to choose from....
ladybugs, horseshoes, rabbits foot, rainbows, four-leaf clover, nautical stars. Did you know 2010 is the Year of the Tiger? Did you know that tortoises are considered a good luck symbol in Feng-Shui decorating?
Here's a link to help you descide on a good luck symbol.
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/643297/27_popular_good_luck_charms_and_symbols.html?cat=7
If you don't have an image of a good luck symbol, you can draw one. Yes you can. That's your new motto. A fun and simple way to create your own image is to draw a cartoon,Cartoons are simple and easily convert to cross-stitch designs. Here's a great tutorial to get you started

Don't forget to e-mail back with a picture of your project so we can show it off. If you like we can even "Share your design" in the Shared Files area.
Have fun and Happy Stitching

Section 24 of "Kodi" is finished
June 13, 2009
This is my current WIP (work in progress), "Kodi".
Kodi is stitched on 22ct. hardanger fabric. To date 27,950 stitches have been worked.
The next section, 25,will be of the tongue and I'm anxious to get started on it.
Below is a scan of the pattern section for page 25. It involves stitching 1839 cross-stitches and will use about 38 floss colours.
Some colours which have not been used yet.
I hope you will continue to watch for the progress on "Kodi".

New product from DMC
May 18, 2009
DMC has come up with a Soluable Canvas that dissolves in water after you have stitched your design.
http://www.dmc.com/majic/pageServer/1u010102fu/en_GB/Soluble-Canvas.html?nid=11;1614
This sounds like a great new development on waste canvas.
Have any of you tried this product?
What are your thoughts on waste canvas?
